The fitted iPad case measures .71″ in depth, 7.7″ in width, 9.79″ in height and weighs 9.6 oz. The case comes in five fabric styles which include Houndstooth Gray, Fadeaway Gray/Black/Green, Fadeaway Gray/Black/Pink, ClassicPlaid Pink & Gray, Black & White Plaid.
Speck’s fitted case is composed of a pair of plastic shells – the hard shell case that sits on the backside of the iPad and a top bezel ring that locks the iPad within the case. Speck allows full access to all control buttons and inputs.
While its beauty is one thing, Speck’s fitted case also keeps functionality in mind. The front and sides have a non-slip rubber finish while the back is protected by hard plastic and a fashionable cloth material.
Installation entails inserting the iPad into the back section of the case and the positioning the front half on top. Try to make sure to verify the case positioning just prior to snapping the two parts together. To be able to remove the iPad from the case, start at the button cut out on the side and gently pull the two sections apart.
The case is slightly thicker than the Speck CandyShell model due to the Fitted’s front bezel. The raised edges on the front bezel keeps the screen protected from direct impact on the screen if you happen to drop your iPad. We here at myAppworld highly recommend you purchase a screen protector with the case. It does not come with a clear overlay like other cases and to prevent scratches a screen protector would be needed.
In terms of aesthetics, we prefer the Fitted Case over the Apple made Case. However, readers should be aware that this particular case lacks any type of stand capability and cannot be used with an Apple made iPad dock.
