Barnes & Noble Nook launches iPad app

Since Amazon had its Kindle for iPad app lauched a few weeks ago, Barnes & Noble has also released their BN eReader for iPad, which is finally available as a free download in Apple’s App Store. Barnes & Noble is trying to give its customers access to its e-book store from a wide array of popular mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, and next month, Android smartphones.

The app allows you to customize the way you read ebooks with personalized themes. There are more than one million eBooks, newspapers and magazines in the Barnes & Noble eBookstore. It also allows you to share certain e-books with other friends that have the retailer’s Nook e-reader or related B&N mobile apps. Choose a contact, send the material, and the other user has up to 14 days to read it.
