Charge your iPad/iPhone/iPod faster on your desktop computer

The iPad is a larger device and draws more power than your iPod and iPhone from the USB slot. Some consumers will have noticed that their iPad charges very slowly, or does not charge at all. Gigabyte, MSI, and ASUS have come out with software that allows their motherboards to handle the power requirements of the iPad. You will see that your iPad will now charge up to 3 times faster than before.  Links are provided below, and in most cases, you will have to update your motherboard BIOS first.  Gigabyte, MSI, ASUS, and ASrock account for more than 80% of the world market share in motherboards. If you have a motherboard that is not from one of these manufactures, go to your motherboard manufacturer’s website to find a BIOS update and appropriate software.

What if I don’t know my motherboard manufacturer?
If you own a PC computer and do not know what type of motherboard you have. Download a free utility called Speccy that will tell you the make and model of your motherboard. Just click “Motherboard” once everything is installed.  We’ve used speccy and other utilities such as CCcleaner (the best of its class) developed by piriform and can attest to its safety and reliability.
Please follow the links below to your appropriate motherboard manufacturer. Each manufacturer has specific
Motherboard Manufacturer:
MSI i-charger
Gigabyte On/OFF Charge
ASUS Ai Charger
ASRock App Charger
We do not recommend you doing this, but here is a video of guy installing the Asus Ai charger into a non-Asus machine. Supposedly this works on any motherboard manufacturer.  Try this at your own risk.
