How to Connect your Android Tablet to a Virtual Private Network (VPN)
The benefits of a Virtual Private Network (VPN), is to allow the user to surf the web and transfer data from a secure, encrypted location. Most large companies have their employees connect to a Virtual Private Network for all their electronic communication, and there are quite a few private VPN services available for the consumer market. If you are using your Android Tablet for school or work, your organization might require you to use a virtual private network. This tutorial will help you set up your Android Tablet for VPN use. Before we begin make sure you first received the details, usernames, and passwords to access your organization’s VPN.
How to Add a Virtual Private Network:
1) Go to the “Settings” application
2) Tap “Wireless & Networks”
3) Tap “VPN Settings”
4) Tap “Add VPN”
5) Tap the type of VPN you have to add
6) Follow the setup instructions given to you by your organization’s network administrator to configure your VPN.
7) When you are finished, tap “save” in the top righthand corner.
8) You should now see your organization’s VPN in VPN list.
How to Connect to a VPN
1) Go to the “Settings” application
2) Tap “Wireless & Networks”
3) Touch the VPN you want to connect your Android Tablet to.
4) A dialogue box will appear. Enter your credentials and tap “Connect,”
How to Disconnect from a VPN
Simply touch the VPN notification and exit on the System Bar
How to Edit an existing VPN Account
1) Go to the “Settings” application
2) Tap “Wireless & Networks”
3) Tap “VPN Settings”
4) Tap and hold the VPN you wish to edit
5) Tap “Edit network”
6) Edit your chosen VPN setting and tap ”save” when done.
How to Delete a VPN Network
1) Go to the “Settings” application
2) Tap “Wireless & Networks”
3) Tap “VPN Settings”
4) Tap and hold the VPN you wish to edit
5) Tap “Delete network” and confirm.
