Gaming on the iOS: Helsing’s Fire

Van Helsing is famously known as the vampire hunter in most movies and Bram Stoker’s 1987 novel, Dracula. This Dutch doctor recently got a role in the iOS game Helsing’s Fire which is priced at 99 cents in the Apple app store. The story of the game is very adventurous as Professor Helsling and his assistant Raffton travel to The Shadow Blight. It is available for the iPhone, iTouch, and iPad.
Helsing’s Fire creating by ClickGamer is a game that follows the origins of Dracula and Van Helsing where the purpose of the game is to fight Dracula over 90 different levels across 3 different worlds. Killing Dracula’s minions and ogres through each level. There are 3 game modes: New game, Crystal, and Survival.
Defeating Count Dracula’s minions in each level can be accomplished by using a powerful torch and throwing different types of tonics at the monsters. I describe it as drawing the helsing’s fire into position and tapping different potions located below the game screen. The mechincs of the gameplay are very easy to learn and much fun. I found some of the levels a bit tricky and extremely challenging.
The amount of time it takes to complete each level is important as it leads to amount of money you earn in addition to how long it takes you to kill each minion. Each minion has its own traits varying from invisibility and shields. The bosses are much harder and more manuverable which feels like an action game at times.
Although the gameplay is fantastic and addicting, I like the comic book style cut scenes that appear throughout the game with great artwork and illustration. If you love puzzle games and uniqueness, Helsing’s Fire is for you.

Helsing’s Fire HD
also comes in HD for $2.99.
